About Us

Our Mission

Radically change the pace of innovation for children

Let’s exponentially improve children’s lives in the next 10 years. We can do this together.

We are part of a global movement aimed at crowding in private sector investment to help achieve measurable impact and the sustainable development goals (SDGs). Our first fund, Save the Children Impact Fund I (SCIF I), an Australia-based commercial impact fund, was established in 2020.

The SCIF I fund provides loans and equity investments to help mission-aligned startups and social enterprises grow. We then back these enterprises and provide support, from field expertise to creating new stakeholder relationships, in over 110 countries.

We are most excited about those solutions which we can enable, with the patient capital, to scale and generate competitive financial returns for our investors. Through supporting our innovators and creating bridges for them to formerly inaccessible opportunities, our platform aims to fuel the growth of these organisations.

Our History

100+ years of radical innovation for children

Save the Children helped pioneer the concept of children’s rights, and we believe this innovation needs more. As one of the world’s leading independent organisations for children, we are and have always been at the forefront of saving children’s lives when disasters strike, and creating lasting change for children and their families through our long-term education, health, child protection, livelihoods and climate change adaptation projects.

Children deserve every chance to take on the world. They deserve an education, a healthy start in life and the chance to go further than they ever dreamed possible. Children have always been the heroes of our story, and now we’re finding more heroes to help.

The next 100 years starts with what we do together in the next 10.
